Sun Ranch is an exclusive 55 acre farm nestled amidst the Coopers Shoot area, fifteen minutes to the heart of Byron Bay and two minutes to the iconic village of Bangalow.
For international and interstate visitors, our convenient and private location is situated 20 minutes’ drive from Ballina Gateway Airport, and 45 minutes from Gold Coast International Airport. Need an airport transfer? Our Ranch Staff can organise that for you.

Our thriving farmers markets are held on Thursday's in Byron, Saturday's in Bangalow and Friday’s in Mullum.
Nearby Bangalow village by day is a bustling little country town full of sweet gift shops, bakeries, parks and historical buildings. By night, head to You Beauty (wine bar with nostalgic Aussie classics and share plates), Ciao Mate (homemade style woodfired pizzas and pastas) both great restaurants a short drive from the ranch. Best to pre-book.
‘Harvest’ at Newrybar offers a modern Australian take on breakfast, lunch and dinner. The deli area is perfect for grab n go coffee and fresh made bakery treats. Our tip is to take a moment to sit and enjoy their garden in the sunshine and wander the village full of charming stores.
Recommended hinterland day trips include Minyon Falls, Killen Falls, Eltham Hotel pub opens from 12pm daily for delicious food and music. Frida’s Field is the perfect setting for a long lunch, Doma Japanese cafe in Federal.
Bundjalung woman Delta Kay who is passionate about sharing Aboriginal culture hosts 90-minute guided tours throughout the region. Delta teaches some Bundjalung language and provides information about local bush tucker, natural medicine, tools, weapons, and artifacts.
Head SE on the highway to the salty coastal town of Lennox Head, eat at Shelter by the sea, or NE to Brunswick Heads where the river is a peaceful place to swim on the high tide.
In the heart of Byron town (just 15 mins from the ranch) you find many great spots, from ‘TopShop’ burgers and coffee to, ‘Bar Heather’, 'Light Years' asian fusion restaurant.
Shopping is best in areas like the Jonson Lane precinct for great local brands such as ‘Nagnata’ and ‘Deiji Studios’’ and the arts and industrial estate with retailers such as 'We are Pampa', ‘East Coast General Store’ and 'For artists Only' for example.
Our local beaches are truly some of the very best in the world for surfing and leisure. Plus between June and Oct we can guarantee you'll catch the migrating whales on your lighthouse walk.
